Kolpin 90250 2" Hitch for Kawasaki Mule Review

UPDATE:

I decided to use the two Kolpin 90250's I purchased "as is" without modification. After installing them and using them daily around the farm we have had no problems whatsoever with ground clearance. A standard 2" ball mount without a ball installed clears the bed when tilted. I figured it was easy enough to make sure any ball mount with a 2" ball installed was removed before tilting bed so didn't bother with my previously-mentioned modification. Everybody who sees them is very impressed maily due to the well thought out structural axle clamping concept.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I bought one of these to try it on my 4010 Trans Mule. I have the Kawasaki hydraulic bed lift system so I was concerned that the bed might hit this new receiver since it extends aft quite a bit. Luckily the bed doesn't hit it when fully tilted, with or without the tailgate down. However, with a ball mount installed it the bed will hit it when tilted. Suggest you keep the ball mount out of the receiver when not using it (how many times to you dump with a trailer on the back?). I went ahead and ordered another one for my other Trans Mule after the first trial.

The 2" tube is long enough it can be trimmed a few inches back with a horizontal band saw and a new pin hole drilled so a ball mount can be left in place during bed tilting without interference. I may eventually do this if the bed dump/ball mount becomes an issue.

I thought the price was a bit high (even though Amazon has the best price on the net delivered). However, after seeing the workmanship and finish this is truly a quality piece and worth the money.

Crashed my bike two weeks ago at fairly high speed. the jacket held up and i would have to say, along with the pants, helmet and gloves, probably saved my life. it took a beating and i don't think there is even a stitch pulled. very well made and has earned my trust. fits very well. im a small guy and the medium fit well. im 5,9 160lbs.

CDI box worked great as a replacement for the non-functioning one on my 1986 Honda XR600. The part appears to be very well made and fit the existing factory connectors. The part is much less expensive than a Honda factory replacement. The bike pulls hard in all gears and doesn't cut out/miss at high RPM. Would recommend this product if it fits your application.

Low sided into the grass run-off at about 50 mph. Came down on my shoulder, elbow, and hip. My only injury was a broken rib from driving my elbow into my rib cage.

The rig worked great. Fits well under my leather jacket. Very adjustable, so it should fit you.
