To tell you the truth, they should really put a better description. The black line that runs past the thumb up to the index finger is designed to flex while keeping the all leather in mind. This makes for a perfect fit, no matter if your making a fist or have an open hand. I serve my country on the flight deck of a US Navy Carrier and these gloves see alot of punishment. I know that they are mortorcycle gloves, but the truth is that these can be used for many other things because they are all leather. A lot of the people that I work with have started using these gloves because they are super comortable, they fit very well, and they are tuff as nails. I wear them all day and beat the living crap out of them. A tread has yet to come loose for any part of the glove. This is after months of working 12 hour days, every day. Thank you ICON!!!!!!!
