Save yourself some work and order it with the correct # of links if you can. My NC700x needed 114, and the chain came with that many!The chain arrived pre-greased for use. It comes with a "clip" master link, but if you read the clip packaging, it says (in tortured English) that you really ought to use a "rivet" master link. The local Cycle Gear store had both the 520 Rivet master link ($6) and the chain joiner/breaker tool ($40), so I put in the Rivet master link.
So far, it seems very smooth... with just a couple hundred miles on it. I got 16K miles from the OEM D.I.D. chain, and I'm hoping for that and more from this chain.
Would I recommend it? Yes.
