Needed some bar end mirrors to complete the streetfighter look for my 02 Monster. I took a look at the CRG mirrors of course because everyone raves about the quality of them but sweet jesus, to get the lane splitters it's going to cost on the order of $80... EACH! So, tax and shipping and we're talking almost $200... for mirrors! I'm a fan of quality, but cmon. So next we swing to the other end of the spectrum, and look at the bikemaster bar ends BikeMaster Folding Bar End Mirror FHM005F-K $40 for a pair? Now we're talking, but looking over the reviews you get the distinct feeling that all you'd be doing is flushing the $40 down the toilet. Now, the LP mirrors LP USA BAR END FOLDING MIRRORS 3" BLACK ALUMINUM PAIR- UNIVERSAL FIT seem to be in the same range but without all the negative reviews (no reviews at all!). Luckily a friend of mine ordered them before I did. They have the same cheap cuffs for anchoring them into the plug which results in vibration to the point that you can't make out what you're looking at, the vibration then of course moves the mirrors from where you set them originally and should you dare try to tighten them up "enough" to prevent the movement you end up with a nice quick "SNAP" and the the collar breaks rendering the mirrors useless. Luckily digging through some threads on the web I came across these marvelous bar end mirrors by Moto Elite. Materials and construction wise they are the same as the CRG mirrors but instead of $80 each you get a pair for about $10 more. This was a price I was more than happy to pay for the quality. Vibration is eliminated by utilizing expandable rubber plugs to anchor them, and utilize multi-axis hex bolts for tightening up the grip that secures the ball and socket arm that holds the mirror arm which so far even without tightening the bolts to the point where the arm will no longer even move at all they still hold their position even upwards of 100mph... Definitely the best choice of foldable bar end mirrors I've found. Go ahead and search for "Moto Elite" and you'll find them in the store on their site. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "CRG Hindsight Lane Splitter Bar End Mirror" are high quality item.
