Fly Racing Trekker Adult On-Road Motorcycle Helmet - Silver / X-Large Review

Everywhere I go someone makes a good comment about this helmet. I put the Silver mirror visor on it and mounted the Polaroid XS100 action camera on the visor..it looks very futuristic.

I wear a medium comfortably in other helmets but this is tighter than other mediums especially around the cheeks, so much so that I took the pads out and washed them hoping they would shrink. I think it helped a little but I probably could have used a large but at 150lbs I usually go for medium, it fits a bit snug.

It gets a lot of air which is great for Florida summer and the main reason I got this helmet. I wear contact lenses and it bothers my eyes a little from the wind so I close the front vent sometimes. It's doable on the highway at 80mph.

I'm lovin' it.

Icon Motorhead Leather Motorcycle Jacket - White/Black X-Large Review

I looked at, and tried on, many motorcycle jackets from Joe Rocket, Alpinestar, Icon, as well as a few other brands. This was by far the best made, best fitting, most comfortable jacket of them all. Leather is very thick. Armor is a big plus. A little heavy but I am very happy with this product. I am so impressed with this company that my helmet and gloves are also Icon brand. They say you get what you pay for and it's true. You want quality you have to step up. But quality gear will last a long time. Just a note: I went on a summer ride on a hot day and with the liner removed and all the nice zipper vents (6 of them, not counting the pockets) open and the perferations in all the right places I was actually fairly comfortable. When it's cold, I put the liner back in, close the zipper vents, and I am acceptably warm. Jackets are subjective as well as objective so get what fits and what looks good. This one did that for me.

AFX FX-50 Helmet, Black, Size: Sm, Primary Color: Black, Helmet Category: Street, Helmet Type: Open-face Helmets 0104-0943 Review

Great helmet overall, perfect for city riding, scootering or touring. It features a high quality build (specially for this price range), relatively quiet and light, very confortable and offers outstanding visibility (great FOV) along with good looks and style.
On the weak side, I think the face shield mechanism is a little stiff, and with the lack of a lift tab, it can be annoying specially when you need to rise it. Same happens with the chin strap ratchet system, nice and secure but it's so tight that is almost impossible to handle with one hand.
Besides, the face shield seems to be made with not-so-good materials, cause it seems to be transparent at daylight but at night it becomes a little bit foggy (no matter how clean it is), especially when it's caught by front lights and/or reflections. Perhaps this is barely noticeable to the one who has never had a better quality helmet but none of my past helmets (Bell, Nolan, LS2, Vcan) have had this issue.
Sun shield tint feels about right for my needs (I live in south america, with sunny days all year long), but it doesn't drop down far enough to come anywhere near my nose, so the gap between the edge an my nose can be a little more than distracting.
So, be advised, this odd sun shield's height could be a problem if you buy a size too tight to the shape of your head, because you may have very little room in the shell to adjust the height of the sun shield at an acceptable distance over your nose. In my case, my head is 56 cm (22 inches) in diameter and according to AFX chart, 'S should be my size. This size fits me very close-fitting, so when I use the sun visor and I try to adjust the whole helmet by tilting it down, the shape of my head does not match the hull's, so that generates a very uncomfortable pressure in my forehead. The result: headache after about 30 minutes of use. Perhaps if I had ordered a larger size, this issue wasn't a problem.
However, these flaws are not a real reason to say this helmet is not worth it, I'd say quite the opposite: I highly recommend this helmet for its price, versatility, quality, comfort and style.

Shorai LFX12A1-BS12 Extreme Rate Lithium Iron Powersports Battery Review

This battery is awesome! It is light, powerful and most importantly will not die off season. I purchased it for a honda magna project where the electrical system was suspect. It cost two times a normal lead acid which is a maintenance nightmare and I hate to begin with. They are an old technology and will almost always be dead if left unattended for a while.

Install - The fit was not exact however it comes with these foam stickey back squares so you make your own "cavity". It was easy and mine was pretty snug. The terminals were oriented correctly although the holes were smaller so I could not use the factory bolt and nut. This was no problem because it came with new bolts and nuts.

Overall - I was skeptical at first but the benefits totally outweigh the price. Super strong start. No degredation after numerous attempts (not great for a starting system anyway). This thing is LIGHT! it feels like a empty case. I shaved roughly 8 lbs removing the lead acid. The need for a special charger ($80)kind of scared me as well, although i should never need it. If so I found an old trickle type would work as long as it did not have a desulfication mode built in. Most of the new microprocessor type chargers have that. One other benefit is that it is safe, this technology was designed for hybred cars so, no acid....
