GMax GM 55 Half Helmet - X-Large/Carbon Fiber Review

To begin with the package arrived after 1 day. I placed an order on march 4th at 6 am and I got it on march 5th at 12pm. +1 for shipping, and consider this guys: ground ups!!! The item was intact and well secured. It came with everything that should be in the package and the size was right, just as ordered. However even though I wear helmets of large size I find this particular one tiny bit to small. It is not a big issue if you have short hair but I would love it much more for being 1/4 or maybe 1/3 of an inch wider. Almost every other helmet this size did not have this problem. The solution is easy: stretch the inner padding (which is removable) by simply soaking it in water for 1-2 days and drying it. It does work. Overall it fits perfectly and does not move on your head at all. The straps are of quality and secure the helmet well. However after a short time it did irritate my skin a little. I do have a very sensitive skin so I do not believe it would be an issue for most of you out there. I did loosen the straps and found it more comfortable while following the safety rules from DOT keeping it fairly secure. The helmet was still in place and did not move on my head. The lens in amazing. It is easy to deploy and is clear. It is also removable but this is not that easy - want to know how? Try it yourself. It took me like 30 min. It is swappable but i don't think they make them different color yet. No scratches or machine finish on it. Very high quality and clear view. The model I bought is flat black. It is simply as smooth as you could wish for and as high quality as you could ask of best brands out there. For the price you got yourself a helmet of twice the value you paid with unique feature of deploy able lenses. Overall if you are looking for a fairly cheap half helmet that will deliver and most likely, like in my case, exceed the expectations, look no further and get it.
