Tour Master Draft Air 2 Jacket - Large/Blue/Black Review

I bought this jacket on short notice and took it for 2400 miles in 7 days, camping all around the Black Hills, and riding back to Chicago. I loved it every minute. The ventilation is incredible if you take out the inner lining which is for cold air or rain. It feels like wearing nothing at all, especially around the mid section. Yet the protection is just as good as I expected from my previous experience with Tour Master. I found myself putting the inner liner back in place for the cool September evenings. I found that it's easier if you don't re-attach every attachment point every time. Some of them aren't needed some of the time.

I ordered 2 sizes and returned one, and got an excellent fit that way. The adjustable waistband helps a lot with that, especially if you have a belly like I do.

I also had a tailor alter my jacket a little bit. There's a flap inside the bottom rear of the jacket, which I guess is for sewing on a zipper to zip onto your sport bike riding pants. I had a touring bike and some padded jeans instead (also black). So we sewed in a heavier flap made of denim, and 3 big loops about 4 inches long with snap closures. That way I could snap the loops around my belt loops, and the jacket would stay closed against the jeans and not ride up my back in a skidding situation. I could use the center one, or the 2 outer ones depending on my belt loops arrangement. That did a good job of attaching the jacket but not restricting my movement, even when turning my shoulders to the side.

I'm definitely keeping this for future rides.
