I actually thought about making one of these since I can weld but I didn't have the metal I needed on hand. I could not have made one of these to fit properly without a lot of time and effort. This trailer hitch is well made, was easy to install and painted like a factory item. I have only pulled a small garden trailer with it so far but I couldn't pull anything on my 400EX (racing) ATV without this hitch! I know my 400EX will never be a Mule but with this hitch it won't just side in the corner watching my slow riding mower having to pull that trailer around the yard anymore! Highly recommended and I think you would have spent just as much money buying the metal, paint, & welding rod for the cost of the unit.
