Initially when I first purchased these gloves, I was a bit worried they might be too stiff when I got them, but I was pleasantly surprised at how flexible and soft they were. I actually bought these gloves to use as part of a Renaissance Fair/Convention costume, which they are perfect for, but also feel that they would hold up quite well for any other purpose. They are genuine leather that looks and feels great to wear. The hand portion of the gloves fit perfectly. The only thing that surprised me was how big the actual gauntlet part was. I was expecting the gloves to be a tight fit all the way up my arm, but the part of the gloves that encloses the forearm was a bit bigger than I thought. This is not an issue at all because it allows heavy jacket sleeves to fit easily inside, which is perfect for keeping wind out. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend these gloves to anyone looking for a good pair of leather gauntlet style gloves, be it for riding or costuming or whatever you desire.
