530 O-Ring O Ring Motorcycle Chain with 120 Links BLACK Review

I think some chains are overpriced. I can buy THREE of these with The same $$ as a TSubaki, or EK, chain, and get probably the same mileage. Went on quickly, and looks very good. Only problem was I ordered BLACK, not natural. Vendor did a poor job of having correct color in stock at time of order, then told me they did not have what I ordered - I would have to take the natural(nickel), or a refund. Whatever. Thanks, Amazon for allowing me to review. Hope this helps someone.

R.U. Outside Helmet Fog Evader Face Mask Review

The FogeVader is pretty great. I have a bell shorty helmet with a face shield and the fog evader works perfectly with it. It covers up everything my helmet and earflaps leave exposed, it fits easily under the helmet, and it won't fog up the face shield. The fit on the head feels very secure with the over the head strap, it doesn't feel like it will slide down my face like other half masks. The mouth/nose area has some perfect neoprene material that sits against the skin and creates a good seal to not let any breath out the top. I had to cut this area to be comfortable around my nose, but that is actually a good thing because it is an easy modification to make for a custom fit. The little bar that contours to the nose leaves something desired, however. It is a flimsy piece of metal similar to those on a disposable dust mask. A little beefier than that, but still I know it isn't going to hold it's shape too long. And the adhesive that holds it in place between the two rivets on each end doesn't stick to the metal at all. But I don't mind because I plan to glue a new piece of heavy steel wire in place along the nose like I do on paper dust masks which I wear for work every day. All in all a great find, perfect for my daily scooter ride- great idea and design, for the most part great materials, so-so on the nose piece, cut to fit nose and mouth ports. But there don't seem to be any other products out there that could serve the same function as the fog evader. A bit expensive, but again, there don't seem to be any competing products in this niche. Not quite a grand slam but a home run, for sure.

Fuel Triple Vented Modular Helmet (Silver, XX-Large) Review

I was hesitant to buy a DOT only helmet.
I don't know any modulars that are snell rated.
I usually buy Arai helmets. My motto (was):
Don't buy a 10 cent helmet for your $100 head!
Still think that, but lack of money has me buying differently.
That all said, I needed a helmet and wanted a modular
style for easier use of communicators and Ipods.
I bought this and am very pleased. The modular part
works pretty well. Thank goodness! If I bought a non modular, the chinbar
would hit my forehead every time I remove the helmet.
The fit was perfect otherwise, tight, but not crushing.
The padding is very good and removable! And comfortable too.
This a warmer weather helmet. The venting is excellent. But you can't
close all vents. Your chin can get cold on chilly nights/days.
There is plenty of room for Ipod buds or for helmet speakers with out
rubbing on my ears. With the modular feature, I can adjust the ear buds
easily. The visor comes off and goes on fairly easly, no tools.
We will see how scratch resistant the visor is. so far, OK.
All in all, good fit and finish for $81.00.
I will probably buy another Arai went funds dictate, but this is a
good option for now. when that happens, this will be a excellent
backup helmet.

GARMIN Zumo 450 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review

Received my Garmin Zumo 450 on a Tuesday and promptly unpacked it. My first impression was "This is different". Hope I didn't waste my hard earned cash for this gadget. I connected the Zumo to the computer and checked for updates. One was available so I downloaded it.

Next I attached the supplied RAM mount to my BMW R1150GS and hardwired the dc cord to an appropriate place. The first couple of days of commuting to work with this GPS I noted my likes and dislikes of this Zumo. At this point the dislikes far outweighed the likes. Hope I didn't make a mistake with this purchase.

The weekend came and I took a long trip through the Adirondacks of NY, the Green mountains of VT and the Berkshires of MA for a distance of 800 miles total for the weekend. By the time the weekend was complete my dislikes with this machine was down to two. The first dislike was fuel stops in rural communities does not display. When in Long Lake, NY it says my closest option for a fuel stop was 22 miles north in Tupper Lake when there were two well-established fuel points in that community. I also experienced this throughout my travels through rural America in the northeast.

The second dislike is the nut that holds the RAM arm. RAM makes a key locking nut that will prevent someone from walking off with your GPS. This item can be purchased separately.

Now for some of my likes:

1. Touch Pad is very nice and easy to maneuver through the various pages.

2. The Garmin Security Lock, when activated prevents someone from using the GPS unless they have the PIN or is at a predetermined location of your choosing.

3. The ability to recalculate your route should you want to deviate from it and go exploring.

4. Waterproof.

5. The RAM mount comes with this unit.

6. Nothing optional that is needed with this unit.

7. The ability to accept Points of Interest. There are free POI's available from the Internet or you can commercially purchase them for your unit.

8. Comes with a carrying case.

9. Large display suitable for the motorcyclist.

It's been a few years since I have updated my GPS. My previous model was the Garmin eMap. The ZUMO 450 is not designed to go hiking and is rather bulky to carry in your hand. The internal lithium battery life of four hours isn't practical to carry on long hiking trips. Garmin's literature states "this unit was designed for a motorcycle by a motorcyclist" and now I believe it. If you are serious about having navigation on your motorcycle the Garmin Zumo deserves some consideration. I have no regrets and feel that I have made a wise choice.

Vance & Hines Exhaust Shortshots Staggered for Honda 750 Review

My bike came with these pipes on.

They're good pipes, chrome, don't rust easily, and give a good sound upto 2,5k RPM.
After that they're rather loud.
Riding on the highway for an hour, made me fall asleep later on that night with my head buzzing from the after effects of the constant noise.
They're generally too loud. I felt reluctant to accelerate because of the noise, and tried keeping my revs below 2,5k RPM.

After a while I got more comfortable with it, but if I had a choice, I'd probably have gone with less loud pipes.
I don't care if they're loud, I just don't want to be the one hearing the noise.
